What you want to do is have things in your room to "absorb" the sound. Put in some throw rugs, and plenty of pillows!!! Keep them in piles in your room -- but make it cool, it CAN look decorative! You get the idea, put lots of fabrics and soft things to absorb the sound.

Bose makes acoustical panels that use active sound canceling technology to soundproof. They actually generate sound waves, like a speaker, which cancel out the ambient noise. They are used in places like Dyno-testing labs, and other high noise environments. Your going to have to save your allowance though. They cost a fortune.
The least expensive way is to line everything with a layer of foam egg crates, covered with a layer of carpet. You can get remnants of carpet pretty cheap, but you'll have to eat a lot of eggs.

Sound absorbing foam, similar to that used in sound studios. It must be fireproof in accordance with local building code.
