Try hanging carpet on 2 adjacent walls. The carpet adsorbs sound and cuts out echos, Heavy draperies around the room will also work.

cardboard egg cartons with a layer of cardboard over the top of them(roughly free if you have enough people helping you find the materials) or pink foam based styrofoam insulation 4X10 sheets of 1/2 inch thickness roughly $10 per sheet are the two i can think of offhand.

the egg crates or use the things people use on their beds they come in pink….matress pad. glue up on the walls or staple them.
