What the room is being used for.  This will have a significant impact on what TYPE of acoustical treatment you use and how MUCH of it you will need.  Obviously a room used for sound recording is going to have much more acoustical treatment than a room being used as a cafeteria/gymnasium.

The other big factor: pre-existing surface material of the the room you&#039;re treating.  Granite flooring with concrete walls and an exposed metal decking ceiling is going to need to be treated differently than a room that is already drywalled, has wood flooring and a drywall ceiling.

Once you have those details in place, it&#039;ll make it easier once you start talking to distributors about what you need.
